CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) Recap

By Mac Rechan

The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Government Affairs Conference (GAC) is a premier event for credit union leaders and advocates to gather in Washington, D.C. and discuss key issues facing the industry. The conference drew thousands of attendees, including CEOs, board members, and other credit union professionals.

This year, Informed attended in tandem with our partner Origence. Together, we are bringing the power of AI and Machine Learning in the indirect auto lending process to Origence’s 1,100 credit unions.

The conference offered incredibly valuable networking opportunities. Credit union leaders from across the country attended the conference, providing a venue to connect with peers, share best practices, and learn from one another. The conference also featured exhibitors and sponsors showcasing new products and services, providing attendees the opportunity to learn more about emerging technologies and other innovations that can help them better serve their members.

Another benefit of attending is the opportunity to learn about emerging trends and best practices in the credit union industry. The conference featured a packed schedule of sessions and speakers covering a wide range of topics, from regulatory compliance to digital transformation to financial inclusion.

Attendees heard from industry leaders, policymakers like Condoleeza Rice and Katie Britt, and many others, sharing valuable insights into the latest developments in the credit union space. Our partner, Origence, gave a fascinating presentation on the future landscape of the automotive industry – highlighting the Electronic Vehicle (EC) movement, switch to online sales models, and corresponding changes to credit decisioning needed for credit unions to compete in the future.

For credit union leaders, attending the CUNA GAC helps them stay up-to-date on regulatory and legislative developments affecting their operations. With the regulatory landscape constantly evolving, it can be challenging for credit unions to stay abreast of changes and ensure compliance. Attending the conference provides an opportunity to learn about the latest regulatory developments and connect with experts who can offer guidance on compliance and other issues. Finally, CUNA GAC is an opportunity for credit union leaders to reaffirm their commitment to the credit union mission. Credit unions are driven by a desire to provide affordable financial services to underserved communities, and the conference provided a chance for leaders to connect and share stories of how they are fulfilling this mission. It was incredible to see the energy and sense of purpose of those attending, inspired by the stories and experiences shared at the conference. Informed is delighted to be a part of this movement in coordination with Origence. Please reach out to learn more about how we can supercharge indirect auto strategies for credit unions!
